Sunshine

Just a quick card to share today... and I have very few details on the stamp at all.  Not sure where I got it or who makes it - it's just from my stash.  So, if anyone has any clues, please let me know.  I would love to be able to source it.

She is colored with my trusted Copics and the design is very simple... A Crafter's Companion oval shaped die cut frames her.  I added a punched (EK Success) border from scrap paper, then used some clever pattered paper for the sentiment because it just seemed to fit the image super well.  Sequins dotted here and there finish it off.

Challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes
Artistic Inspirations - anything goes
Crafty Catz - anything goes
4 Crafty Chicks - scrap paper
Fun 'n' Funky Challenge - young girl
Crafty Gals - use something new - sequins
Penny's Challenge - anything goes

Thanks for joining Kaboo Designs today.  I hope your weeks is awesome!

Through the Craft Room Door - Guest Design Spot

The sweethearts over at Through the Craft Room Door gave me the chance to join in the fun as a guest designer for their current challenge.  I was thrilled to jump on the opportunity to create a card for them using this adorable stamp from Lacy Sunshine called Winter Emily.  As always, their challenge is anything goes, so hop over and check out the rest of the DT's inspiration...then link up a project and let us see what you've been up to.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Out of my comfort zone....vaavoooom

When Torrey was here this past fall we challenged each other on many occasions.  She would pick an image I had to use, I would pick one she had to use.  We would make a card using the same theme, or image.  We would make each other use a particular color scheme or certain art medium... the list went on and on.  It was our way of challenging each other to step out of their comfort zone and stretch our creative juices.

Well, this one certainly stretched me...  You see, I am a Copic girl through and through and Torrey is a Prisma colored pencil girl to the end.  So our challenge to one another was Torrey had to use Copics and I had to use colored pencils.  HAHA... talk about out of my comfort zone.  This is the result...  Oh yeah, she also got to pick the image.  If I remember right I picked a fairly easy and generic image for her, while she picked this detailed image with of all things, chrome.  She is wicked to the core but I love her so.  All in all, I do like the way this came out despite having to use a medium I am not that great with.

Challenges for this card:

A Bit More Time to Craft - anything goes
Crafting By Design - anything goes
Crafty Gals Corner - anything goes
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - anything goes
Craft Your Passion - anything goes

That's all for now....

Grumpies from Taylor

I honestly love love love the Grumpies from Taylored Expression... They crack me up and just make me smile... Then pair it with this wonderful sentiment, and this card is ready to make some ones day.

I paired the two easily by cutting the Grumpie out and just placing him on the opening of the sentiment.  I guess I could have stamped them together using my Misti as well, but I don't think I had that much planned out... hehe!  Some decorative papers, burlap and buttons, a frame and a punched border is all it took to make this one pop.

Challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Crafty Gals Corner - three of a kind
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - anything goes
Love to Scrap Challenge - anything goes

House warming

When Haley and Patrick moved to their new home, I gave them the menu board I featured a while back...but what I didn't share with you then was the card I made to go with it.

Since they love dogs (and have two), I chose this adorable Penny Black Man's Best Friend stamp set.  I colored the images up with my trusted Copics, then fussy cut them all.  The sentiment was printed on a page of the paper pack I had chosen, and said everything I needed and wanted it to say... So, I just cut it out and added it.  I thought it came together well and I know they loved it.

Challenges for this card:

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - anything goes
Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes
Love to Scrap Challenge - anything goes
Artistic Impressions - anything goes
A Bit More Time to Craft - anything goes

Sending all my local friends a wish for a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday... and all others, a warm hug for a great day.

Thanks for joining me today.

Penny Black - Best Friends

This stamp makes me think of Torrey.  She is my soulmate, sista from another motha, bestee, BFF, and any other way I can describe someone I couldn't imagine my life without!  (Except we never wear heals, hehe).

It's a Penny Black cling stamp and was such fun to color up with my Copics.  The doily die cut is from Crafter's Companion and the "Love Ya" die cut is from Lawn Fawn.

I think I'll enter this into the following challenges:

Crafty Catz - anything goes
Just Add Ink - Doily-Diecut or Designer Paper
Craft Your Passion - anything goes

Enjoy your weekend!

Jodi

Let's go fly a kite

Back again with another share of this adorable image I colored up the other day.  While Torrey was out here we went to a small stamp show and I found two stamps from a company I had never even heard of before... they weren't something I had seen before, and I was immediately drawn to their simple vintage feel.  I think this one turned out great!  A look back to a more innocent and happy time in life...and a great card for a young boy!

Challenges:

Crafty Catz - anything goes
4 Crafty Chicks - vintage
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge - anything goes
Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes

Happy Friday y'all!

Jodi
