Fairy - Crafter's Companion

It is with mixed emotions that I post this project today - It's been one of my favorite projects completed for Crafter's Companion, and now I post it as my last official design team post for them.  My term with them has ended and although I am ready to move on to other challenges and excited about what comes next, I'm going to miss working with them and their products.

They sent me a Gemini die cutting machine several months ago and I have been using it continuously ever since.  If you haven't seen it yet, you must check out the deets on the website here.  It's an amazing machine and takes die cutting and embossing to a new level.  It's about to be released on HSN for the first time, so you need to definitely check it out.

I used a beautiful image from the Morgan Fitzsimons Flight fo Fantasy CD, colored her with Spectrum Noir pens, then used one of the embossing folders and die cuts that come with the machine to frame her.  One of them had this great lattice pattern, so I added some color using the Spectrum Aqua watercolors to add the colors inside of the embossed design.  Some gorgeous flowers finished it off.

Thanks again to Crafter's Companion for a fun last nine months.  I have come to love your products and working with you has been great.

Hugs to all!

4th of July - Crafter's Companion

It's about time to celebrate the birth of our great nation!  I love the 4th of July with picnics, outside games, lying on the grass looking up and of course...the fireworks!

For this card I colored up some of the images from the Crafter's Companion Patriotic sets with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, the put them in a frame from Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy - Just Torn stamp to make it look like they blew right through the page.  I love the combination!

I think I'll add this card to a couple of challenges:

Thanks for joining in the fun today!

Hugs and Kisses - Crafter's Companion

Just a quick post today to share a happy card I created for Crafter's Companion - Hugs and Kisses!  It turned out so sweet and sunny.

I used the adorable stamp from Moonbeam Meadow called Hugs and Kisses, colored it up with my Spectrum Noir Markers, inked the edge with some matching Distress Ink, then put it on a cute die cute called Cameo Frame.  Some coordinating papers made it easy to put this one together.

I think this should be in some challenges:

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - use a die cut
Crafty Catz - animal magic
Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes

The Crafter's Companion supplies I used are:

Stamps - Moonbeam Meadow - Hugs and Kisses
Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers - TN1, TN2, IG1, GB5, TB1, TB2, TB3, FS2, FS6, FS8, BG2, BG1, BG4, DG1, DG2, CG2, PP1, PP3
Die'Sire Decorative Die - Cameo frame

Believe - House Mouse

I thought it would be fun to enter the House Mouse challenge again this go around... and the challenge is "Butterflies".  Well, I didn't really want to go to literal on that, I mean anyone can just slap a butterfly on any image, right?  So, I found this adorable image of a mouse in a caterpillar costume.  I think that the sentiment fits it perfectly and that this will someday make a terrific card for someone needing some encouragement, or moving on to something new in their life.

I colored him with my Copics, then used a Spellbinders die to frame him.  The "believe" is a stamp far too old to even source, and the sentiment is just typed and printed.  The patterned papers are from Doodlebug Designs - and are just such happy colors.

So, I guess I throw this one into the House Mouse challenge and maybe a few others as well.

House Mouse - Butterflies
Crafty Catz - Animal magic
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards - Use a die cut
Fab 'n' Funky - favorite color combo (pink & green)

Thanks for popping by today.  See you again soon (hopefully).

Rock Star Tag - Crafter's Companion

It's been a crazy couple of weeks in my life - and I've missed being a little creative and posting here.  Unfortunately life gets in they way!

So, I'm back now with a new share from Crafter's Companion.  They have released a great new collection from Sara Davies called "Just For Men" and it comes at just the right time for Father's Day.  There are coordinating papers, embossing folders, dies, stamps, etc.  It's a fun set that has endless opportunities for great masculine cards.

For this one I created the background using one of the embossing folders on a watercolored surface, then inked and distressed it.  Some of the patterned papers, then die cut stars and guitar added fun to it.  I used one of the stamp sets to add the title, then more distress elements for textures.  I love the way it came out and can't wait to add it to a package this Father's Day.

Here are some challenges for this one:

Chocolate Coffee & Cards - use a die cut
Moving Along with the Times - music
Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes
Love to Scrap - it's a boy thing
Little Red Wagon - tag

Second go around - House Mouse

Had too much fun with the last card I made using only "older" products that I wanted to try another one for the House Mouse challenge.

I started with the Stampabilities House Mouse stamp called Wishin' Well that was released in 2008.  I stamped it on kraft paper then used my Prisma's to color it up.  I have collected my Prisma's over the last 15 years or so.  Then I found this great old paper in a pack from DCWV that I know has been in my drawer for at least 10 years or more.  It's actually a "pet" stack, but these papers were versatile enough to use for anything.  The corner rounder and corner punch are both from EK Success and I've had them for over 12 years.  The ribbon is from my stash that's been accumulating for many many years.  The sentiment is stamped using an alphabet stamp set from Scrappy Cat, and I know I've had it for at least 7 or 8 years.  So, while I may not have used the oldest stuff in my craft room, I definitely found some older stash stuff to play with.

Thanks for joining in the fun today.
